All Acknowledge the Superiority of Unchangeable Wisdom to that Which is Variable
Now, no one is so egregiously silly as to ask, "-->How do you know that a life of unchangeable wisdom is preferable to one of change?"--> For that very truth about which he asks, how I know it? is unchangeably fixed in the minds of all men, and presented to their common contemplation. And the man who does not see it is like a blind man in the sun, whom it profits nothing that the splendor of its light, so clear and so near, is poured into his very eye-balls. The man, on the other hand, who sees, but shrinks from this truth, is weak in his mental vision from dwelling long among the shadows of the flesh. And thus men are driven back from their native land by the contrary blasts of evil habits, and pursue lower and less valuable objects in preference to that which they own to be more excellent and more worthy.

perhaps.. but I've found many a profound moment in the bottom of a glass of beer..
Acknowledged, my friend. Unchangeable wisdom is indeed the essence of which we all seek but most certainly will never attain; well I’ve certainly succumbed to the notion of skipping around the block knowing that the essence I seek is always just around the next corner. Our profound desire to change things is far too tempting for our pathetic, undisciplined and fickle minds. In stead we’re much more inspired by consuming ourselves in a convolution of whimsical mess – much more interesting.
But there is always the hope that we will be able to feel the sun grace our pallid skin if we cannot let the ‘splendor of its light’ pour into our eye-balls. Alternatives always seems to arise if you make use all the senses you still have.
This concept of unchangeable wisdom you keep barking on about is indeed curious and has indeed a quasi-flaw, when you realise that your essence (which I keep barking on about and which I think is extrapolated through our actions) loses focus and is blanketed with denial and fear. If, you consider that unchangeable wisdom is dictated by the belief that it is based on an unchangeable law (something which we can all live by and comprehend - for wisdom is a strongly held personal belief), then this law is ultimately the saving grace of human kind! We're not all that bright, ye know. Even though, I also find beer a great medium to clarify profound moments, I must admit that I also find it clouds them; hence an essential part of progressive wisdom! (Now, there's a concept, "Progressive Wisdom". Must get a patent on that one!)
I recently read this book which closed with the sentence of some "..trying to compensate themselves for the loss of an unchanging world by clinging to the faith that change can be foreseen because it is ruled by an unchanging law." And I could only think of you, SCPP.
But of course the million dollar question is "what are the clauses to this unchangeable law of which we speak?". Fuck it, eh? Drink more beer, I say....
